Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Grow Labs LLC (“Grow Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles your information when you use the Conceiva mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using Conceiva, you agree to the practices described here. For UK and EU data-protection law, Grow Labs LLC is the data controller.
1. Where your data lives
Conceiva is built to keep your sensitive information with you. The cycle and health data you log, your onboarding answers, and your settings are stored locally on your device. Conceiva has no accounts or passwords, and your data is not sent to our servers as part of normal use. Specific, clearly labeled features are the exceptions: reminders, AI chat, optional photo analysis, importing from your Oura account, the optional research study, and (if you opt in) pseudonymous analytics and install measurement. Each is described below, along with the data that never leaves your device.
2. Information we collect
a. Information you provide (stored on your device)
- Profile: your name (if you enter one), birth year, and cycle details such as cycle length, period length, cycle history, and last period start.
- Cycle & health logs: period, intercourse, cervical-mucus, symptom, temperature, LH-test, and pregnancy-test logs.
- Feelings diary: how you are feeling on a given day, and any short note you add.
- Hormone readings: values you type in from a hormone monitor, such as LH, E3G, PdG, and FSH.
- Onboarding answers: such as how long you have been trying to conceive, your cycle-related preferences, whether you have been pregnant before, and, if you choose to say, how many children you have.
- Cycle-history import summary: if you import from Apple Health or from another period app, a short summary of what the import found (for example, how many periods, and which app).
- History you bring from another period app: if you import from an app such as Flo, Clue, or Natural Cycles, the period days, test results, and logs you confirm before they are saved. A data file you choose is read on your device and is not uploaded, and a password you enter to open it is not saved.
- Support messages: what you send us when you contact support.
These stay on your device. Your pregnancy history answers and children count, your feelings diary, your hormone readings, and your cycle-history import summary are stored only on your device. Conceiva does not send them to our servers, OpenAI, the research study, OneSignal, or Layers. The one exception is a hormone monitor screenshot you choose to have read (section 4): that image is sent for reading, and the readings you confirm are saved only on your device. History you bring in from another period app is stored on your device with your other cycle logs. It is never sent to the research study, OneSignal, Layers, or analytics. Screenshots of that app you choose to have read are sent for reading only (section 4). If you turn on usage analytics, analytics records only that you used the feelings or hormone log, never what you entered.
b. Data from your Oura account (only if you authorize it)
If you choose to link your Oura account, you authorize Conceiva, through Oura's secure OAuth sign-in, to read daily readiness temperature data from Oura's API. Conceiva imports overnight temperature you already recorded; it does not communicate with, or control, any hardware. The imported temperature is used to spot the shift around ovulation and inform your cycle chart. Your Oura access tokens are stored in your device's keychain, and imported temperature is held with your other on-device data. You can disconnect Oura at any time in Conceiva's settings; disconnecting clears the saved tokens and deletes the Oura-derived data Conceiva holds. To fully revoke Conceiva's access to your Oura account, you can also remove it at your Oura account (cloud.ouraring.com). Ōura Health Oy is based in the EU.
c. Advertising identifier (US only, and only if you allow it)
If you are in the United States and 18 or over, Conceiva asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether it may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). We use it for one purpose only: to tell which ad brought you to Conceiva, so we know which ads are worth running. Unless you tap Allow, iOS never gives Conceiva that identifier and nothing user-level goes to any ad network. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings, or turn sharing off under "Ad measurement" in Conceiva's settings. Otherwise, data sharing with ad networks is limited, and measurement relies on Apple's anonymous, aggregate SKAdNetwork reports.
Conceiva uses the Singular SDK (Singular Labs, Inc., United States) to measure which app-install ads work. It starts when the app opens and receives install and session information (device information, a device-scoped identifier, IP address, and Apple's SKAdNetwork data), a "registration" event when you finish onboarding (no details), and a subscription event with the product, plan, amount, and currency when you subscribe. It never receives your health logs, chat messages, or photos.
d. Apple Health (if you enable it)
If you grant access in iOS, Conceiva reads these types of data you already record in Apple Health, and brings in new and changed entries when you open the app. This is read-only: Conceiva never writes to Apple Health.
- Cycle: menstrual flow (period history), spotting between periods, cervical mucus quality, sexual activity, and Apple Health's cycle pattern notices (irregular, infrequent, or prolonged cycles, and persistent spotting).
- Tests: ovulation test results (LH and estrogen), progesterone test results, and pregnancy test results.
- Symptoms: abdominal cramps, breast pain, headache, lower back pain, acne, fatigue, bloating, nausea, appetite changes, pelvic pain, mood changes, sleep changes, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, fever, and chills.
- Records: pregnancy, breastfeeding (lactation), and birth control (contraceptive) records.
- Temperature: basal body temperature, body temperature (used only to note a fever), and overnight sleeping wrist temperature.
- Heart, breathing, and sleep: resting heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, and sleep.
- Body: your most recent weight and BMI.
How far back: cycle, test, symptom, and record entries for up to the last two years; cycle pattern notices, basal temperature, and daily summaries of resting heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, body temperature, and sleep for up to the last year (sleep is first read for the last 120 days); wrist temperature for the last 90 days; weight and BMI as the most recent value only. Heart, breathing, sleep, and body temperature are kept as one summary per day, not as individual readings. What Conceiva reads is processed and kept on your device alongside your other data.
How it is used: to estimate your cycle, fertile window, and ovulation, and how confident those estimates are; to show these entries on your Log, Calendar, and cycle chart; to pause fertile window estimates, the two-week-wait card, and fertility, period, and pregnancy test reminders while Apple Health shows a pregnancy, breastfeeding, or birth control record, and after one of these records ends until you log your next period (for a few cycles after birth control ends, period and pregnancy test reminders stay off); to show a notice when Apple Health flags an irregular or infrequent cycle pattern; and, if you use it, to give the AI assistant context.
Apple Health data is never sold and never used for advertising. It leaves your device only if you choose a feature that uses it. If you use the AI assistant, the summary of your data sent with your message can include any of the Apple Health data above, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, or birth control records, symptoms, test results, temperatures, heart, breathing, and sleep summaries, and weight or BMI (section 4); the app asks your permission first. If you join the research study, only your overnight wrist temperature from Apple Health is included; other Apple Health data, including symptoms, is not (section 2h). Usage analytics receives only counts (how many periods an import found, how many kinds of Apple Health data were found, and how many entries were added or removed), never the entries themselves or which kinds of data you have, and install measurement receives no Apple Health data, not even how many periods an import found. For reminders, days_until_period is estimated from your cycle, which can include Apple Health data. Neither days_until_period nor tww_day is set while Apple Health shows a pregnancy, breastfeeding, or birth control record, and days_until_period is also not set during the first cycles after Apple Health shows birth control ended (section 2e).
You can stop Conceiva from reading any type in the Health app's sharing settings. Disconnecting Apple Health in Conceiva's settings stops bringing in data and removes the temperatures, heart, breathing, and sleep summaries, records, cycle pattern notices, and weight it brought in; entries added to your logs (such as periods, tests, and symptoms) stay in your history until you delete them.
e. Reminders (only if you turn them on)
If you turn on reminders during onboarding and allow notifications in iOS, Conceiva uses OneSignal (OneSignal, Inc., United States) to send reminder notifications. OneSignal does not start until you turn reminders on. It then receives your device's push token, the random install identifier Conceiva uses in place of an account, the basic information its software collects to deliver notifications (device model, iOS version, language, time zone, app version, IP address, from which it estimates your country, and whether a notification was received or opened), and these six tags, which decide which reminder to send:
- reminders_on: that reminders are on.
- subscriber: whether you have an active subscription (true or false).
- access_tier: your plan state in Conceiva (paid, free trial, free preview, or not subscribed). It carries no dates.
- days_until_period: whole days until your next expected period. It is not set while estimates are paused for an Apple Health pregnancy, breastfeeding, or birth control record (section 2d).
- days_since_last_log: whole days since you last logged something yourself.
- tww_day: which day of the two-week wait you are on (1 to 16). It is set only during the two-week wait and is never set after you report a pregnancy loss.
No dates, log entries, test results, or other health details are sent to OneSignal. To stop, turn off notifications for Conceiva in iOS Settings; Conceiva notices the next time you open it and turns reminders off. Deleting all your data in Conceiva also turns them off. When reminders are turned off, Conceiva opts your device out of push notifications, removes all its tags from OneSignal, and signs your install out of OneSignal.
f. Usage analytics (only if you turn it on)
If you enable “Share usage data,” Conceiva sends limited, pseudonymous product analytics to PostHog, hosted in the United States (us.i.posthog.com), such as: which screens you open, which features you use and how you move through the app (for example taps, navigation between screens, and whether you add, edit, or delete an entry, but never the contents of what you log), onboarding step progress, and app version and platform. It can also include a few summary values: your birth year and approximate age, your usual cycle and period length (until you import history from Apple Health), whether Apple Health is linked (and, after Apple Health is read, only counts: how many kinds of data were found and how many entries were added or removed), your subscription status, and your in-app conception-chance level when you view it (low, mild, medium or high, never a percentage). A random device identifier groups events from the same install. We do not attach your name or email, and we never send your individual cycle, intercourse, symptom, feelings, hormone, temperature, or test entries. Analytics is off until you opt in, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.
Conceiva does not record your screen: PostHog receives the events described above, not recordings of what the app shows. Even with analytics off, the app asks PostHog at launch which app features to show, using a random identifier; that request carries no usage events and no health data.
g. Install attribution and growth measurement (only with usage analytics)
If you turn on usage analytics, Conceiva also uses Layers (United States) to measure how people come to install Conceiva and whether new users get started. Layers runs only while analytics is on; turning analytics off shuts it down. It receives install attribution information (such as which campaign or link led to your install), device information (such as device model, iOS version, and app version, with an identifier for this install), and three activation events: onboarding_completed (you finished onboarding), cycle_history_imported (that an Apple Health import finished, with no count or other detail), and first_log (your first log after onboarding, with nothing about what you logged).
Layers receives no health data: no dates, log entries, test results, or Apple Health entries. Layers can use your advertising identifier only if you are in the United States, 18 or over, allowed Apple's tracking prompt, and have ad measurement on (section 2c). Conceiva does not enable Layers' clipboard reading or device fingerprinting.
h. Conceiva research study (only if you join)
If you choose “Contribute to Conceiva research” in onboarding or Settings, Conceiva sends a copy of your data to our backend under a random study code that is not linked to your install identifier or analytics: your birth year, cycle and period length and cycle history, your goals, trying-to-conceive answers and methods, birth control, whether Oura or Apple Health is linked, and your period, intercourse, symptom, cervical-mucus, LH-test, pregnancy-test, and temperature entries, including overnight temperature from Oura or from Apple Health. Other data brought in from Apple Health is not included (for example symptoms, test results, basal temperature, heart, breathing, and sleep summaries, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or birth control records, cycle pattern notices, and weight), and neither are your feelings diary, hormone readings, pregnancy history answers, children count, chat, or photos. While you take part, it uploads about once a day. Research data is never sold and never sent to advertisers. You can leave at any time in Settings; leaving stops uploads and deletes the research copy of your data.
i. Subscriptions, refunds, and diagnostics
- Subscriptions: purchases are processed by the Apple App Store; we receive subscription status, not your full payment-card details. Superwall shows the subscription screen and RevenueCat keeps the subscription record. Both receive the random install identifier, purchase and subscription events, and basic device information, never your health logs, chat, or photos.
- Refund requests: if you agree, when Apple asks us about a refund request we tell Apple whether you consented and whether you viewed your report and used the app's content.
- Diagnostics: basic crash and performance information to keep the app working.
3. How we use your information
- To provide Conceiva's core features, interpreting your logged cycle history, test results, and temperature trends to estimate your fertile window and ovulation and to show your daily conception-chance view.
- To power AI chat and optional photo analysis when you use them.
- To operate, secure, maintain, debug, and improve the Service.
- To process subscriptions and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To provide support and respond to you.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or your health data, and we do not use your health data for advertising.
4. AI chat and photo analysis
If you use Conceiva's AI chat, your message and a summary of your Conceiva data (such as your cycle dates, logged symptoms, and test results, and data brought in from Apple Health, such as temperatures, heart, breathing, and sleep summaries, test results, symptoms, weight or BMI, and pregnancy, breastfeeding, or birth control records) are sent, through our backend, to OpenAI in the United States so the assistant can give you a personalized answer. If you use optional photo analysis (LH test strip, pregnancy test, or cervical-mucus photos, or a hormone monitor screenshot from an app such as Mira, Inito, Proov, or Oova, including the readings and dates it shows, or a screenshot of the calendar or cycle history in another period app you are moving from, such as Flo or Clue, including the dates it shows), the image you choose is sent the same way. For a hormone monitor screenshot, Conceiva also sends your phone's current date, used only to add a missing year to a date printed without one. For a screenshot of another period app, Conceiva also sends your phone's current date and the name of the app you picked, used only to read the dates; only the dates come back, and you confirm every day before anything is saved. Our backend is hosted on Railway (conceiva-production.up.railway.app); it relays these requests and does not retain your photos server-side. The first time you use either feature, Conceiva asks for your explicit agreement before anything is sent, and if you don't agree, nothing is sent. We do not use these features to advertise to you or to sell your data. If you don't use these features, this data isn't sent.
5. How we share information (our processors)
We share information only as needed to run Conceiva, with service providers acting on our behalf:
- Ōura Health Oy (EU): source of the temperature data you authorize us to import.
- OpenAI: powers AI chat and optional photo analysis (via our backend).
- OneSignal (OneSignal, Inc., United States): sends reminder notifications, only after you turn reminders on (section 2e).
- PostHog: pseudonymous product analytics, only if you opt in, hosted in the United States.
- Layers (United States): install attribution and growth measurement, only while usage analytics is on (section 2g).
- Singular (Singular Labs, Inc., United States): our mobile measurement partner. It receives install and session information (device information, a device-scoped identifier, IP address, and Apple's SKAdNetwork data) and the two ad-measurement signals described in section 6, and never receives your health, cycle, or log data.
- TikTok (TikTok Inc.): receives those same two signals from Singular on our behalf so we can measure our ads. It receives them user-level only if you allowed Apple's tracking prompt; otherwise only Apple's anonymous, aggregate SKAdNetwork reports.
- Apple App Store: subscription payments.
- Superwall (Superwall, Inc., United States) and RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States): the subscription screen and subscription records (section 2i).
- Railway: cloud hosting for our backend, which relays AI requests and the Oura sign-in and receives research data if you join the study.
- Expo (650 Industries, Inc., United States): checks for app updates when Conceiva opens. It receives the app version and your IP address, and no data you entered.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer. Each provider is bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
6. Your consent choices
- Usage analytics is off until you opt in (“Share usage data,” in onboarding or Settings) and can be turned off any time. When it is off, Conceiva does not send your product-analytics events. The same switch controls Layers install measurement.
- Ad measurement uses our measurement partner Singular, which starts when the app opens and receives install and session information (device information, a device-scoped identifier, IP address, and Apple's SKAdNetwork data), a "registration" event when you finish onboarding, which carries no details, and a subscription event carrying the product, plan, amount, and currency when you subscribe. No health, cycle, intercourse, symptom, photo, or chat data is ever included, and none is ever sent to an ad network. Your advertising identifier (IDFA) is available only if you are in the United States, 18 or over, and tap Allow on Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (the app shows that prompt only in those cases). Only then, and only while ad measurement is on in Settings, may Singular forward those two events user-level to the ad network that showed you the ad, currently TikTok. Otherwise, data sharing with ad networks is limited, and measurement relies on Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports only anonymous, aggregate campaign results. You can turn this off at any time under "Ad measurement" in Conceiva's settings, or by changing your answer in iOS Settings.
- Reminders start only after you turn them on and allow notifications. To stop them, turn off notifications for Conceiva in iOS Settings; this also removes your reminder tags from OneSignal.
- Research study is off until you join, and you can leave at any time in Settings, which deletes the research copy of your data.
- Oura import runs only after you explicitly authorize it through Oura's sign-in, and you can disconnect at any time. Disconnecting deletes the Oura-derived data Conceiva holds.
- Apple Health is read only if you grant read access in iOS. You can turn off any type any time in the Health app's sharing settings, or disconnect Apple Health in Conceiva's settings.
- AI chat and photo analysis ask for your explicit agreement before they first send your message or photo to OpenAI. If you don't agree, nothing is sent.
7. Legal bases (UK/EU users)
- Consent: for health-data processing, reminders, the Oura and Apple Health imports, AI chat and photo analysis, optional analytics and install measurement, and the research study. You may withdraw it at any time.
- Contract: to provide the Service you sign up for, including subscriptions.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires processing.
8. Data security
We protect your information with technical and organizational safeguards. Your data stays on your device, in Conceiva's private app storage, which is protected by your device's built-in app data protection, which encrypts app storage at the file level and ties it to your device passcode. Sensitive credentials such as your Oura access tokens (if you link Oura) are kept in your device's keychain. Data sent to our backend or providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and respond promptly to incidents.
If a data breach affects your personal data and the law requires it, we will notify you and the relevant authorities without undue delay.
9. Data retention
On your device: your data stays until you delete it in the app or remove the app.
Photos: images you submit for photo analysis are processed to produce the result and are not retained on our servers.
Analytics, if you opt in: we retain product-analytics data (held by PostHog) for up to 2 years, after which it is deleted. If you delete your data in the app or ask us to, we remove your analytics records sooner.
Reminders: when reminders are turned off, Conceiva removes its tags from OneSignal and opts your device out of push notifications. You can email us to delete any remaining OneSignal record for your install.
Research, if you join: when you leave the study, we delete the research copy of your data.
Deletion requests: when you delete your data in the app we erase it from your device, opt out and reset your analytics identifier, and request erasure of the server-side analytics record tied to your device identifier. Server-side deletion is actioned within one month; copies in routine backups are overwritten within 90 days. We keep limited records only where the law requires it.
10. Your rights and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, export, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Conceiva gives you direct controls:
- Export (Art. 15 / 20): Settings → “Your data” → Export my data gives you a structured JSON copy of what Conceiva stores on your device.
- Delete (Art. 17): Settings → Delete all my data wipes your on-device data, opts out and resets analytics, and requests erasure of server-side analytics records tied to your device identifier.
- Withdraw consent: disconnect Oura or Apple Health, turn off analytics, or leave the research study in Settings, and turn off reminders by turning off notifications for Conceiva in iOS Settings; to withdraw consent for health-data processing, delete your data (Settings → Delete all my data), since Conceiva needs that data to function.
You can also email conceiva@growlabsllc.com to exercise any right. UK and EU users may also complain to their local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
To protect your data, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by confirming it comes from the email you contact us with. We respond within one month. If we need more time or cannot act on a request, we will explain why.
11. Children's privacy
Conceiva is intended for adults who are trying to conceive. We apply a region-aware minimum age, checked at onboarding: 16 in the US, 18 in the UK, and the applicable digital-consent age (13 to 16) elsewhere in the EU/EEA. We do not knowingly collect data from children below the applicable age; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International data transfers
Grow Labs LLC operates from the United States, and some providers (for example, reminders, analytics, install measurement, subscriptions, backend hosting, and AI processing) process data in the United States, while Oura is based in the EU. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK IDTA or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
13. United States
Grow Labs LLC is based in the United States, at 8 The Green, Suite A, Dover, DE 19901. If you live in the US, the following applies in addition to the rest of this policy.
Your health and cycle data is never sold and never shared with advertising networks. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell your consumer health data. We will not share or sell your consumer health data without your separate, valid authorization. The only data that can reach an ad network is non-health ad-measurement signals (the two described in section 6, and the Layers activation events in section 2g), and user-level only if you allowed Apple's tracking prompt.
Your choices and rights. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what we collect, to access or delete your data, to correct it, and to limit the use of sensitive information. You can export or delete your data in the app (Settings, then Your data) or email conceiva@growlabsllc.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
